Here, I will be analyzing the gender roles of characters in gothic literature. This blog will explore the relationship between gender roles and hauntings. Often, in Gothic Literature, women who are defined through their role in the as a domestic worker fall victim to hauntings. Men, however, are equally subjected when they posses stereotypical maternal traits. What does this mean? Why is this a pattern in Gothic Literature? These are some of the questions I plan to answer in this blog.
Postings will entertain different ideas and thoughts that pertain to stereotypical gender roles. Each post will pertain to a different movie, novel or short story.
