About Me

My name is Lori Moore. I am a junior at George Mason University studying Criminology, Law, and Society. I entered college in 2010 knowing that English was my weakest subject. This motivated me to enroll in at least one english class each semester. Although this has proven to be a challenging task, my reading and writing skills have dramatically improved.

I chose to write about Gothic Gender Roles because of my interest in family dynamics. This interest stems from my experience with different maternal roles in my two blended families. Often times, gender roles are intertwined with such family dynamics in the gothic.

You may be wondering, why on earth would I be composing a literary based blog! Frankly, I don't blame you. However, I believe this to be a great tool for allowing other non-english majors to analyze novels and short stories. This is so important because analytical reading skills are something that most employers like to see.
